New and Newsworthy

Philips Automotive Lighting North America has introduced the new Philips CrystalVision 5000K, a powerful, high performance Xenon HID headlamp bulb that was specifically developed as a lighting upgrade for vehicles equipped with Xenon HID headlamp systems. Philips CrystalVision 5000K is the whitest, most brilliant automotive headlamp bulb available on the market. It is designed to dramatically improve driving vision at night by producing a light that is 25% whiter than standard HID headlamp bulbs. While most Xenon HID headlamp bulbs operate at color temperatures around 4,200ºK, Philips CrystalVision 5000K operates at 5,000ºK. As a result, the beam is much whiter and closer to daylight than the light created by any other headlamp bulb. Philips CrystalVision 5000K bulbs are street legal and DOT compliant. Since 1925, the pickup truck bed has been a catch-all for all you care to haul. With the DAMARtm Truck Decktm there is new thinking in bed storage and organization. The new DAMAR Truck Deck Workman Series features up to six lockable storage compartments, depending on bed length, and is constructed of durable aluminum diamond plate in varying thicknesses from light-duty .080" to super-duty .1875". Designed to fit the exact size and shape of the bed it is installed in, each of the Truck Deck's weather-resistant compartments is secured with rotary T-handle latches and sealed with a neoprene rubber gasket. The DAMAR Truck Deck, supported by a heavy-duty aluminum tubular frame that extends to the sidewalls of the bed, can also be used as a hauling surface to maximize the bed's storage capacity. The Truck Deck's storage containers can be easily removed and taken into the job site. The DAMAR Truck is currently available for Chevrolet/GMC, Ford, Dodge, Nissan and Toyota pickups. Installation and removal is a quick and simple process requiring no tools and no assistance. For more information visit www.damartruckdeck.com

Rostra Precision Controls Inc. introduces a cruise control system for one of today's most popular hybrid vehicles, the 2008 Toyota Prius. The new Rostra Prius Cruise Control System features all traditional cruise control functions, including set speed, coast/reduce speed, resume/accel, controlled resume rate and retention of last set speed. The company also makes systems for a variety of fuel efficient cars, trucks and SUVs on the road today, including: Toyota Yaris and Matrix; Hyundai Elantra and Sonata; Pontiac Vibe; and Jeep Compass and Patriot (2WD). According to an article at www.FuelEconomy.gov, using cruise control systems to maintain a constant speed - versus aggressively speeding and braking, can help car owners increase their fuel economy. Rostra Precision Controls is the largest aftermarket manufacturer of cruise controls, with its systems offering the most efficient way yet to add cruise to vehicles without factory systems.
